Job Description: 

As a Yield Analysis Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and solving yield and reliability challenges to ensure our products meet the highest standards. On a day-to-day basis, you will analyze complex test data, conduct failure analysis, and develop advanced characterization techniques to improve manufacturing processes. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing product quality and operational efficiency, making a tangible impact on Intel's success.

You will be part of Intel's manufacturing and product engineering organization, which focuses on optimizing semiconductor production processes to deliver high-performance, reliable products to global markets. The team supports Intel's mission to create world-changing technology, driving innovation across industries while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct yield analysis and failure investigations to identify root causes and recommend solutions to improve manufacturing yields and reliability.
  • Analyze end-of-line test data, process parameters, and electrical measurements using statistical tools to extract meaningful insights and perform correlation calculations.
  • Develop and implement advanced characterization and analysis techniques to enhance the efficiency and precision of failure analysis efforts.
  • Perform electrical failure analysis (EFA) to address complex yield limiters across product development and high-volume manufacturing phases.
  • Collaborate across teams to segment issues related to process, test marginalities, and product operation.
  • Support process and defect characterization while developing innovative techniques to accelerate failure identification and root cause understanding.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related STEM field and 4+ years relevant experience OR
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related STEM field and 2+ years relevant experience OR
  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related STEM field.
  • Depending on the degree obtained, the listed amount of experience will be needed in each of the items below:
    • Background in yield analysis, failure analysis, or process integration in semiconductor manufacturing
    • Statistics and data analytics (yield modeling, SPC, DOE, correlation analysis)
    • Wafer sort testing, defect metrology, E test, and/or fab data systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Programming or scripting experience (Python, SQL, JMP, or similar) for large scale data analysis (machine learning or AI)
  • Lead structured problem solving and drive cross team alignment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with defect metrology, inline monitoring, and yield excursion management
  • Experience supporting NPI ramps and HVM yield sustainment in a factory environment

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $103,730.00-198,820.00 USD

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
