Job Title: Nvidia Omniverse Developer
Location: Cambridge, ON | On-site
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $95,000 - $130,000Benefits: RRSP, health/dental/vision package, reimbursement for tuition and professional dues, paid vacation, personal days, and sick days
Why This Role ExistsEclipse Automation is building a new digital engineering backbone for custom automation, centered on NVIDIA Omniverse, OpenUSD, simulation, virtual commissioning, industrial data connectivity, and immersive engineering workflows.
This role exists to add a dedicated Omniverse developer who can help turn that backbone into practical software used by engineering, project management, electrical, controls, applications, commissioning, and customer-facing teams that help Eclipse design, validate, and deliver complex automation systems faster.
We are looking for someone with real Omniverse experience who can contribute immediately, bring strong technical judgment, and help raise the team's capability as the platform grows.
The PositionThe Senior NVIDIA Omniverse Developer will work under the Omniverse lead developer to design, build, test, and scale Omniverse-based tools for industrial automation. This person will be hands-on across Python, C++, OpenUSD, Omniverse Kit, Isaac Sim, simulation workflows, integration APIs, and user-facing tools.
The ideal candidate has already built with Omniverse or comparable real-time 3D, simulation, robotics, or digital twin platforms. They understand how to move from prototype to maintainable software, how to connect 3D environments to real engineering data, and how to make complex technical capabilities usable by non-specialist engineering teams.
What You'll Be Doing:- Build Omniverse Kit applications and extensions - develop production-quality tools, extensions, panels, services, and workflows using NVIDIA Omniverse Kit, Python, C++, OpenUSD, and related SDKs.
- Advance Eclipse's OpenUSD foundation - help define, implement, and maintain USD structures, schemas, asset conventions, metadata patterns, and scene composition workflows for custom automation systems.
- Develop engineering data connectors - connect Omniverse workflows to PDM, engineering software & custom tools, industrial robot software, and internal Eclipse systems where appropriate.
- Support simulation and virtual commissioning - build tools and workflows that drive machine behavior from PLC logix/Robot programs to enable the paralellization of controls efforts.
- Create industrial automation digital twins - translate equipment, cells, tooling, sensors, motion devices, robots, conveyors, grippers, and system layouts into usable Omniverse-based digital representations.
- Build UI / UX for engineering users - create practical interfaces that make advanced Omniverse capabilities accessible to controls, robotics, mechanical design, applications, project, and shop floor teams.
- Enable XR and immersive workflows - support use cases for spatial review, operator training, remote collaboration, design validation, customer experience, and future XR-enabled engineering workflows.
- Integrate robotics and automation technologies - work with robot platforms, PLC concepts, industrial protocols, offline programming tools, physics simulation, and automation data where needed.
- Create reusable patterns and libraries - build components, schemas, templates, APIs, and examples that prevent one-off custom work and help the platform scale across projects.
- Prototype, validate, and harden new capabilities - evaluate NVIDIA tools, APIs, workflows, and technical options, then turn promising prototypes into maintainable internal products.
- Collaborate across disciplines - work with sales & applications, software, controls, electrical & mechanical design, project teams, and leadership to turn real engineering needs into shippable tools.
- Document and transfer knowledge - create clear technical notes, examples, coding patterns, and platform guidance so Eclipse can grow its internal Omniverse capability.
What We're Looking For:- Proven hands-on experience with NVIDIA Omniverse, Omniverse Kit, OpenUSD, Isaac Sim, or closely related real-time 3D / simulation / digital twin platforms.
- Strong Python development skills with experience building maintainable applications, tools, extensions, APIs, or automation workflows.
- Strong C++ development capability for performance-sensitive components, SDK integration, simulation, real-time systems, or native extensions.
- Practical understanding of OpenUSD concepts such as stages, layers, composition arcs, variants, schemas, metadata, references, payloads, and asset organization.
- Experience building developer-facing or user-facing tools such as custom panels, plugins, extensions, services, connectors, visualization tools, or workflow automation.
- 3D, simulation, robotics, digital twin, game engine, real-time visualization, or industrial software experience with an ability to reason about spatial data and interactive systems.
- Systems integration mindset with comfort connecting software to external APIs, data sources, files, SDKs, vendor tools, databases, or hardware-adjacent workflows.
- Strong software engineering discipline including Git, code reviews, testing, debugging, packaging, documentation, and maintainable architecture.
- Ability to work with ambiguous technical problems and break them into practical prototypes, implementation plans, and production-ready capabilities.
- Ability to work on-site in Cambridge, Ontario with access to Eclipse teams, automation equipment, lab environments, and project stakeholders.
