NURSING SUPERVISOR (RN) - SUD & MH | Baldwinville, MA (On-site) | $95K - 104K

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking an experienced Nursing Supervisor (RN) to lead nursing services within our inpatient behavioral health and substance use treatment program in Baldwinville, MA. This onsite role offers the chance to step into a key leadership position, drive clinical excellence, and support patient-centered care.

Position Details

  • Reporting To: Director of Nursing

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5 PM

  • Location: Baldwinville, MA (On-site)

  • Compensation: $95,000 - $104,000 Annually


Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance: Support regulatory readiness, audits, accreditation requirements, nursing policies, staff education, and compliance with state, federal, Joint Commission, and CARF standards.

  • Clinical Oversight: Provide RN-level clinical oversight, including evaluating patient needs and determining appropriate nursing assignments, and clinical coverage based on census and acuity.

  • Staff Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and provide clinical direction to nursing staff while promoting accountability, sound clinical judgment, and quality patient care.

  • Clinical Assessment: Perform and oversee comprehensive nursing assessments, identify changes in patient condition, determine appropriate interventions, and escalate care when medical or psychiatric needs exceed the current level of care.

  • Plans of Care: Develop, evaluate, and modify nursing plans of care based on patient acuity, withdrawal risk, medical/psychiatric presentation, and response to treatment.

  • Care Coordination: Partner with medical and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care; oversee documentation, assessments, medication safety, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.


Qualifications

  • An active unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible nursing leadership and management experience, demonstrating increasing responsibility for staff supervision, operational oversight, performance management, and departmental outcomes.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in behavioral health and/or mental healthcare settings, with substance use treatment experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience with Kipu EMR systems, preferred.


Competencies

  • Clinical Judgment: Independent assessment of patient condition, recognizing changes, initiating interventions, and determining appropriate escalation of care.

  • Behavioral Health: Strong knowledge of substance use, co-occurring mental health disorders, withdrawal management, and patient acuity.

  • Acuity Management: Effectively evaluate acuity to guide nursing assignments, staffing, monitoring, and clinical resources.

  • Clinical Leadership: Lead, coach, and hold nursing staff accountable while providing clear clinical direction and oversight.

  • Compliance & Safety: Knowledge of regulatory standards, patient safety, documentation, accreditation, and confidentiality requirements.

  • Communication: Strong leadership, communication, organization, and documentation skills in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
