Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Uro Oncology
Albany Med Health System – Albany, NY

The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. This role offers a focused opportunity to provide expert care for patients with Urologic Cancer while also supporting the broader urology practice.

Position Highlights:
• Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule
• Clinic hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
o Upon completion of onboarding and training, four 10-hour days may be available.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage population of patients with urologic cancer including administration of cancer instillation treatments
  • Conduct virtual and in person visits to review test results, discuss treatment options and provide patient education
  • Order and interpret additional diagnostic testing when indicated
  • Collaborate closely with attending urologists, nursing staff, and administrative support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Participate in the rotation for urgent urology add-on visits, which may include cases such as hematuria, elevated PSA, kidney stones, or acute infections
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record

Qualifications:

  • License and active registration as a registered nurse/nurse practitioner or physician assistant in New York State
  • Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Familiarity working in electronic medical records. Epic experience a plus.
  • Collaborate effectively across various departments to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and a positive work environment.
  • Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
