Full Job Description
The APC Clinician Educator is responsible for developing and implementing training programs for employed clinicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care to patients. This role involves conducting training sessions, workshops, and providing ongoing support and mentorship to employed clinicians. The APC Educator collaborates with other physician leaders and the Provider Education Subcommittee to create training materials and resources, evaluates the effectiveness of training programs, and stays updated on changes in value-based care.

This position is full-time (40 hours per week), consisting of 80% administrative time and 20% clinical primary care practice.

Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:
• Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a resource and resource for clinicians, providing guidance on complex coding and HEIDS measures. Train and support APC Quality Champions in their assigned projects assigned by the Value-Based Governance Committee.
• Improve HCC Coding Accuracy: Provide education and support to clinicians to achieve year-over-year improvement in the accuracy of Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding and documentation.
• Improve HEDIS performance: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for new clinicians and current clinicians on value-based care, and HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) measures to drive year over year improvements.
• New Clinician Training: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for new clinicians on value-based care, HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) measures, and HCC documentation.
• Ongoing Education: Conduct ongoing training sessions to keep all clinicians updated on best practices for HCC coding and value-based care. (Includes material presented on monthly clinician meeting).
• Resource Development: Create and maintain educational materials and resources to support clinicians in accurate HCC coding and documentation.
• Performance Support: Support divisional dyads on monthly quality meetings to share opportunities for improvements in HEDIS, HCC coding accuracy, and sharing best practices to support value-based care documentation in Epic. Maintain accurate records of training activities and evaluate the impact of training on clinician performance and patient outcomes
• Feedback and Support: Provide individualized feedback and support to clinicians to address specific challenges related to HEDIS measures and coding/documentation practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Value-Based Governance Committee and Provider Education Subcommittee to align on where targeted education is needed for clinicians related to HCC coding and documentation and HEDIS. Promote a culture of continuous learning and development among clinicians.

Required Qualifications:
• National Nurse Practitioner certification through AANC or AANP, or Physician Assistant national certification through NCCPA
• Unrestricted Arizona Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license or ability to obtain prior to start date
• Minimum 3 years of post-training experience in outpatient primary care medicine
• Experience providing patient care under a Value Based Care Model
• Current DEA registration or ability to by start date
• Current BLS certification or ability to by start date

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of HEDIS measures, CAHPS, HOS, HCC Coding documentation
• Proficient in EMR systems & technology (EPIC Preferred)
• 1-3 years of leadership experience

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $109,500 - $164,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
