Job Description:

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive healthcare services to patients within a physician group practice. Working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, the NP assesses, diagnoses, treats, and manages acute and chronic health conditions while promoting preventive care and wellness. The NP practices within the scope authorized by California law and organizational policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain patient medical histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations.

  • Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions.

  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.

  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with California law and organizational protocols.

  • Provide patient education regarding disease management, preventive care, medications, and healthy lifestyle choices.

  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Review and follow up on laboratory results, diagnostic studies, referrals, and patient communications.

  • Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, case managers, and other members of the healthcare team.

  • Refer patients to specialty care or higher levels of care when clinically appropriate.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, population health programs, and patient satisfaction efforts.

  • Comply with all federal, state, regulatory, and organizational requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Current California Registered Nurse license.

  • Current California Nurse Practitioner certification and furnishing number, as applicable.

  • DEA registration (if prescribing controlled substances is required).

  • National board certification in applicable specialty area.

  • Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred depending on practice setting.

  • Minimum 1 62 years of clinical experience preferred.

  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines.

  • Effective communication and patient education skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and perform clinical duties for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift or assist patients as necessary within established safety guidelines.

Salary Transparency:Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $145,000. Benefit from highly competitive compensation structures, and annual productivity bonus potential of up to $40,000.
