Position Summary
Interior Health is seeking two Permanent Full-Time Nurse Practitioners to join the Clearwater Integrated Rural Care Model, providing comprehensive, longitudinal primary care to residents of Clearwater and surrounding North Thompson communities, including rural and Indigenous populations.
Working within an interdisciplinary team, the Nurse Practitioners will practise autonomously as Most Responsible Providers (MRPs) for attached patient panels, providing full-scope, culturally safe and patient-centred care. Responsibilities include chronic disease management, preventive care, urgent and episodic primary care, hospital discharge follow-up, and ongoing care for patients in Long-Term Care (LTC), Short-Stay Units (SSU) and Respite services.
The NPs will collaborate closely with family physicians, nursing, Mental Health and Substance Use, Home and Community Care, Indigenous Health, allied health professionals, and community partners. Care will be provided primarily through the Clearwater primary care clinic, with opportunities for virtual care and planned outreach to surrounding rural communities, supporting improved access and continuity across care settings.
This is an exciting opportunity to practise to full NP scope within an evolving rural healthcare model that values autonomous practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, cultural safety, and strong community relationships. Participation in an interdisciplinary NP/Physician LTC/SSU/Respite on-call group may be required, with a minimum 1-in-4 rotation where applicable. The positions are focused on primary care and does not include acute inpatient coverage.
