Work Type: Full Time
FTE: 1.0
Shift: Varied
Hours: Monday - Sunday, 7P-7A; 7 on 7 off

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Nurse Practitioner will diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe. Provides care of hospitalized patients and has full control of a patient throughout their entire shift. Current BLS and ACLS Required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by State of employment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Critical thinking
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to complete comprehensive physical exam, diagnose and formulate a medical management plan
  • Ability to collaborate with attending physician

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hospitalist or acute care setting preferred
  • 2 years experience preferred
