JOB RELATIONSHIPS
Responsible to the Administrator and Supervising MD
DEFINITION OF POSITION
The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner has an expanded role providing direct care to individuals, families and/or groups in ambulatory or inpatient care settings. In collaboration with physicians, s/he is responsible for diagnosing, prescribing treatment and providing follow-up for patients during all phases of wellness and illness. S/he initiates referrals for implementing the patient's total care plan involving other health disciplines within and outside the hospital. PA/NP place a marked emphasis on patient teaching and education, working collaboratively with physicians.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional
License and current registration to practice in North Carolina.
Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
