Dual-Certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (FNP/PMHNP)

Locations: Tampa and St. Petersburg, Florida
Practice: The Neuropsychiatry & TMS Group (TNP)
Setting: Outpatient Psychiatry
Position Requirement: In-office time will be divided between the Tampa and St. Petersburg locations.

Position Overview

The dual-certified FNP/PMHNP will provide comprehensive outpatient psychiatric care while applying an integrated understanding of both physical and mental health. The provider will conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose and treat behavioral health conditions, manage medications, and collaborate with physicians and other members of the clinical team.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with a diverse patient population and committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based, and individualized care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up appointments.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat a broad range of psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's medical history, psychiatric needs, and treatment goals.
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications within the provider's scope of practice.
  • Monitor patient progress, medication effectiveness, potential interactions, and side effects.
  • Evaluate physical health conditions and other medical factors that may affect a patient's psychiatric symptoms or treatment plan.
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory testing and other diagnostic information when clinically appropriate.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment recommendations, and overall wellness.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists or other levels of care when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Follow all applicable clinical, ethical, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Divide scheduled in-office time between TNP's Tampa and St. Petersburg locations.

  • Strong psychiatric assessment, diagnostic, medication-management, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of the relationship between physical health, medications, and psychiatric symptoms.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative clinical team.
  • Strong communication, organization, and patient-care skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work in office at both the Tampa and St. Petersburg locations.
