Job Title: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Reports To: Vice President of Nursing and Addition Services
Summary:The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will provide high-quality mental health care to patients focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of mental health issues and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse patient population of all ages including individuals with disabilities.
Education Requirement:- Master's Degree or higher in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from an accredited school
- Family Nurse Practitioner with Psychiatric Mental Health Experience
- Current AANP or ANCC Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)
Experience Requirement:- Psychiatric Nursing Experience 1 year (preferred)
Licensure/Certification Requirement:- TN Nurse Practitioner License (Required)
- Current AANP or ANCC (Psych Preferred) will consider FNP with Psych Experience
- Current BLS/CPR Certification
- DEA License (Required)
Key Job Responsibilities:- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care
- Educate patients and families on mental health issues and treatment options
- Utilize telehealth services for remote patients
- Close charts within 24 hours (Collaborative Documentation)
- Ability to use electronic health record system
- Conduct psychiatric assessment
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably within a Psychiatric inpatient/outpatient facility
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in mental health care practices
- Precepts NP Students
- On call on a rotation
Additional Job Requirements/Schedule:- Complete all Alliance required training courses
- FT, split between Wellness Center and Outpatient Clinics
