OverviewThe Nurse Manager – Diagnostic & Procedural Services is responsible for the day-to-day clinical and operational management of assigned nursing teams within Diagnostic Imaging, Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), and the Procedure Suite. This role provides frontline leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality nursing care across complex procedural and diagnostic settings. The Nurse Manager partners closely with the Clinical Director, providers, research and interdisciplinary teams to implement standards of practice, support operational performance, and foster staff engagement and professional development.

Responsibilities
- Manage daily nursing operations across assigned Diagnostic Imaging nursing areas, PFT, and the Procedure Suite (GI, IR, and Interventional Pulmonary).
- Ensure delivery of safe, patient-centered nursing care consistent with evidence-based practice and organizational standards.
- Operationalize nursing policies, procedures, and standardsestablishedby the Clinical Director.
- Serve as an on-site clinical and operational resource for staff and interdisciplinary partners.
- Ensure nursing competency, orientation, annual skills validation, and continuing education for staff supporting diagnostic and procedural services.
- Ensure department is staffed appropriately
- Supervision of staff to include hiring, performance evaluations, training and development, handling disciplinary action, layoff and termination issues.
- Provides teaching, coaching and consultation on clinical issues for professional nursing staff.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- 3 6 years of clinical nursing experience.
- 2 years in healthcare leadership
- Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or current NLC multistate license (MSL); and MSL with Primary State of Residence to WA is required within 60 days of hire. This requirement may be waived under specific circumstances, subject to approval.
- Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card
- Current ACLS Health Provider Card
- Frontline nursing leadership and clinical judgment
- Operational problem-solving and prioritization
- Staff engagement and performance management
- Quality, safety, and regulatory awareness
- Effective communication and collaboration
Preferred:
- Master's degree (MSN, MHA, MBA, or related field).
- Nursing Leadership Certification (CNML, CENP, NE-BC etc.)
- Manager-level leadership experience in procedural or diagnostic nursing services.
- Experience supporting Interventional Pulmonaryproceduresand Pulmonary Function Testing services.
- Proven success in quality improvement, operational transformation, and staff engagement initiatives.
- Previous experience in oncology and/or critical care or procedural units (ex. OR, PACU, ED, ICU, GI etc.)
- Previous experience in building capacity to meet timely patient access needs
- Possess working knowledge of financial processes, including budget preparation and clinical information systems
The annual base salary range for this position is from $142,252.00 to $237,057.00, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
