Nuclear Plant Siting and Environmental Licensing EngineerReports to the Senior Manager Nuclear Plant Siting and Environmental Licensing and is responsible for assisting with activities for siting and environmental licensing submittals. This role will integrate environmental requirements into project planning documents, permit applications, design criteria, construction plans, schedules, and subcontract documents.
The position will assist in the development of the siting and the Environmental Report for the license application, implement the siting and environmental licensing strategy, develop regulatory submittals, and assist in managing interactions with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, other regulatory authorities, and industry groups.
Responsibilities:
- Integrates environmental requirements into project planning, permitting, design, construction, commissioning and startup, and operations.
- Assists in the development and implementation of the Siting and Environmental Licensing Project Plans
- Assists in the development, execution and maintenance of the schedule for preparing and obtaining regulatory approval of licensing submittals.
- Assists in planning, coordinating, organizing, and executing on-going siting and environmental licensing activities.
- Assists in preparing for meetings as well as preparation for submittals and interactions with the regulatory authorities.
- Participates in meetings with team members, subcontractors, permitting agencies, and other stakeholders to advise them of environmental requirements that may affect their work.
- Assists in managing interactions and communications with the regulatory authorities.
- Supports the development of siting and environmental licensing submittals including implementation of the licensing strategy
- Actively participates in industry groups and forums, implementing lessons learned and industry best practices at TerraPower.
Key Qualifications:- B.S. degree with a strong experience base in the nuclear field;
- Specialized knowledge in a field of science (e.g., meteorology, ecology, biology, forestry, wetlands, archeology), engineering (e.g., civil, environmental, mechanical) or related disciplines
- 5+ years of direct nuclear reactor siting and environmental licensing experience
- 5+ years of direct experience with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
- 5+ years of direct experience in project management.
- The candidate must be an excellent communicator, team oriented, willing to operate within a matrix organization and is able to direct remote team members.
- Experience working with plant design teams is desirable.
- Experience with advanced reactors is desirable, but not mandatory.
- The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

Rockville, MD: $$150,695 - $200,927
*Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual's qualifications experience.
