Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We have design, sales, and manufacturing locations globally and are currently seeking an NPI Director to join our Backplane OverPass business unit in Valley Green, PA.
The Backplane OverPass business unit develops high-speed, high-bandwidth interconnect solutions for AI, cloud, networking, server, storage, and data-center platforms. Its portfolio includes advanced connectors, and flyover cable assemblies that move signals off traditional PCB traces to improve signal integrity, reduce loss and heat, and support next-generation system architectures. The business partners globally across engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customers to deliver scalable connectivity solutions for leading technology companies.
The NPI Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for the global New Product Introduction organization within the Backplane OverPass Business Unit. This role is responsible for driving successful product launches at scale, aligning engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams globally, and ensuring time-to-market, quality, and profitability objectives are achieved.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide global leadership and strategic direction for NPI activities across the Backplane OverPass business unit
- Own and continuously improve the NPI and phase-gate (RPD) processes to ensure disciplined execution and on-time product launches
- Lead cross-functional alignment between Development Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure seamless transition from development to volume production
- Drive manufacturing readiness, including process development, factory transfers, capacity planning, and risk mitigation
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain leadership to develop scalable manufacturing strategies supporting next-generation high-speed products
- Ensure effective product cost, margin, and yield performance at launch and through ramp
- Serve as a key interface with executive leadership, providing clear communication on program status, risks, and opportunities
- Mentor and develop global NPI leadership and technical teams, building organizational capability and succession
- Support key customer engagements related to product launches, technical readiness, and roadmap execution
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's degree or MBA preferred
- 15+ years of experience in NPI, engineering, or operations leadership within connector, cable, or high-speed interconnect industries
- Demonstrated experience leading global, cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
- Strong technical foundation combined with strategic business acumen
- Proven ability to drive execution across geographically and culturally diverse teams
- Executive-level communication, presentation, and influence skills
- Track record of successful high-volume product launches and manufacturing scale-up
- Willingness to travel globally as required (approximately 30-40 percent)
