Responsibilities

  • Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound guidance
  • Manage PICC lines and other vascular access devices
  • Perform a variety of vascular access services including port access and declotting
  • Educate nursing staff on the use of PICCs and CVADs
  • Travel to various patient facilities for consultations
  • Participate in on-call rotation, required two to three days per week

Full Job Description
RNs- PICC and Vascular Access Consultant

As a VIC the PICC Vascular Access Consultant RN you will:
  • Place PICC's, midlines and peripheral IV's with ultrasound and use ECG confirmation.
  • Assist with management of PICC;s and vascular access devices
  • Provide a wide range of vascular access including but not limited to port access, removal of lines, declotting PICC's, etc.
  • Educate nursing staff regarding PICC's, midlines and many other CVAD's

In this role, you will be visiting patients in different facilities. You must be willing to travel to patient visits and be able to participate in on-call rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs. On-call requirements are: two- three days per week, including weekends and participate in the holiday rotation.

PICC RN QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Registered Nurse with current license
  • Minimum of 3 years• experience in acute care preferred
  • Experienced in PICC placements with ultrasound
  • Have and maintain current CPR certification
  • Possess a current and valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • Ability to work independently
  • Participate in on-call rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs
  • Must possess a smart phone
  • Access to reliable transportation that will enable you to travel to patient sites
  • Must LOVE Vascular Access
