Berkshire Health Systems is seeking a Nocturnist to join the hospital medicine team at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The defining advantage of this opportunity is its unusually manageable schedule: physicians work only 122 shifts annually to maintain full-time status, averaging approximately 10 shifts per month.

Each shift is 11 hours, including 10 hours of clinical coverage and one dedicated administrative hour for completing charts and other documentation.

The Opportunity

As a Nocturnist at Berkshire Medical Center, you will provide overnight care to hospitalized patients while working alongside an experienced team of hospitalists, advanced practice providers, nurses and other clinical professionals. The closed ICU structure allows the Nocturnist team to focus on hospital medicine patients while collaborating with critical care clinicians when a higher level of care is required.

This position is an excellent fit for a physician who enjoys the clinical independence and pace of nocturnist medicine but wants to avoid the demanding number of shifts commonly associated with full-time night coverage.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible physician
• Eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
