Note - The salary for this position is based on a combination of education, relevant experience, and industry standards. The top of the posted pay range reflects compensation for candidates with a similar title, performing comparable duties within a similar industry, and possessing 12 or more years of experience. Actual compensation will be determined based on individual qualifications.
Variable Incentive Pay / Merit: This position is eligible for variable incentive pay based on individual and credit union performance. In addition, the position is also eligible for merit-based pay adjustments after the completion of one year of service, based on personal performance.
Position SummaryThe Network Technician is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and supporting the organization's network infrastructure and related technology systems to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operations. This role installs, configures, tests, and troubleshoots network hardware, software, telecommunications systems, and connectivity solutions while providing technical support to end users.
The Network Technician performs routine infrastructure maintenance, monitors network performance, responds to incidents, and assists in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Working closely with internal stakeholders and technology teams, this position helps ensure system availability, operational continuity, and effective delivery of technology services while supporting organizational objectives through dependable network and infrastructure management.
Knowledge Requirements- Working knowledge of network infrastructure, routing, switching, WAN, LAN, and wireless technologies.
- Understanding of network equipment configuration, firmware management, and system administration principles.
- Knowledge of Internet Protocol (IP) networking, network security concepts, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform IT testing, system validation, and issue diagnosis.
- Experience with software installation, version control, configuration management, and endpoint support.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions and appropriately escalate issues when needed.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard business technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured and service-oriented environment.
Education and Experience- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent education in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Two to four years of experience supporting network infrastructure, information technology operations, or end-user technical support.
- Experience working with network hardware, telecommunications systems, and enterprise technology environments preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting network connectivity, hardware, software, and infrastructure issues.
