Job Summary
Seeking a Senior Infrastructure, Network & Platform Migration Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise application migration and separation program. The role focuses on transitioning applications from legacy environments to target platforms, including SaaS, Microsoft commercial tenants, GCC/GCC High environments, VMware, Active Directory, cloud platforms, and traditional data centers. The engineer will validate infrastructure dependencies, identify technical risks before cutover, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and support production migrations across complex, integrated environments. The position requires hands-on engineering experience, strong technical judgment, and the ability to verify application behavior and challenge assumptions to prevent migration failures.
Key Responsibilities
• Support application migration and separation activities across SaaS platforms, Microsoft commercial tenants, GCC/GCC High environments, VMware platforms, Active Directory environments, and traditional data centers.
• Validate infrastructure readiness and technical dependencies before migration and production cutover events.
• Analyze and troubleshoot network routing, connectivity, firewall rules, traffic flows, DNS, name resolution, server platforms, VMware infrastructure, hybrid cloud environments, and Active Directory dependencies.
• Verify application communication paths and identify undocumented infrastructure dependencies, integration requirements, and technical risks.
• Validate connectivity, authentication flows, certificates, firewall rules, and application behavior across legacy and target environments.
• Collaborate with application owners, network teams, infrastructure teams, and security teams to identify and resolve migration blockers.
• Review migration plans and challenge technical assumptions when gaps, dependencies, or risks are identified.
• Participate in migration bridges, war rooms, production cutovers, and other high-pressure migration activities.
• Perform root-cause analysis during migration events and determine whether issues originate from infrastructure, networking, platform configuration, security controls, or application dependencies.
• Support post-cutover stabilization, issue remediation, and ongoing coexistence between legacy and target environments.
• Evaluate cross-environment dependencies and technical considerations associated with Transition Services Agreement (TSA) arrangements.
• Document recurring migration risks, lessons learned, and recommendations to improve future migration activities.
• Determine which technical issues must be resolved before cutover and which can be addressed during post-migration stabilization.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, network engineering, cloud engineering, or platform engineering.
• Experience supporting multiple enterprise-scale application migration and production cutover projects.
• Strong troubleshooting, technical risk assessment, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, VMware, Windows and Linux server environments, DNS, TCP/IP networking, firewall technologies, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and data center migrations.
• Experience validating application dependencies, connectivity requirements, and communication paths across integrated environments.
• Ability to identify undocumented dependencies and technical risks in environments with incomplete or outdated documentation.
• Experience supporting production cutovers, migration events, war rooms, and high-pressure troubleshooting scenarios.
• Ability to independently validate technical configurations and application behavior rather than relying solely on architecture diagrams, migration plans, or application owner documentation.
• Ability to challenge technical assumptions, escalate concerns, and collaborate across infrastructure, network, application, and security teams.
• Strong technical judgment in identifying and resolving issues that could affect migration readiness and production stability.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale enterprise separation projects.
• Experience with FedRAMP, GCC, or GCC High environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
• Understanding of identity, authentication, and access management concepts.
• Experience supporting Transition Services Agreement (TSA) environments and coexistence strategies.
