Full Job Description
Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Network Markets Analyst II to join our Network Management team. In this role you will be responsible for keeping abreast of market and regulatory developments and translating that expertise into insights that can be shared with internal and external clients, prospects and other market counterparts. Through information accessed through our subcustodian and correspondent bank relationships, the RM Analyst is responsible for communicating market updates directly to our key clients both in the form of regular relationship dialogue, in depth presentations, hosted client conference calls and through the maintenance of BBH's market information and global risk products. Some of your key responsibilities include: - Market Intelligence - Maintain in depth knowledge of local market practices and regulations and advise internal departments of market changes - Identify new opportunities and improved processing efficiencies, through an understanding of industry best practices - Conduct local market due diligence for correspondent banks - Synthesize, package and deliver value added market intelligence information to Network direct and indirect clients in collaboration with the Markets teams - Client Service - Respond to external client needs, by leveraging knowledge of securities markets, local foreign exchange markets, cash clearing regulations and payment systems. - Maintain ongoing relationships with key clients for the regular exchange of market development key to their business. - Coordinate client meetings to showcase BBH expertise and Network Management strategy through Global RMs/CSMs and appropriate industry forums - Participate in internal working groups when regulatory or market changes require changes in processes and support; work closely with the Network Management group - Track & communicate intelligence (client, market, competitive) to and from clients, prospects, BBH colleagues, MIG, Marketing & Strategy - Product Support - Develop and in-depth understanding of market practices and procedures to be able to respond to questions received from external clients. - Draft and issue publications on market events impacting our client's investment in assigned markets and in-depth Special Focus articles. - Identify market risks and develop ways to mitigate them. - Track and manage material market developments, events or product launches to ensure timely notification and follow up - Due Diligence - Conduct on-site due diligence when required by the sub custodian network relationship management team - Risk Management - Identify market risks and work with operating departments to develop ways to mitigate them Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in finance or related discipline required. - 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience. - Knowledge of the BBH business and its practices, particularly global custody. - Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships. - Knowledge of securities and foreign exchange markets, cash clearing and securities markets regulations and depositories, settlement, payment systems. - Knowledge of the external competitive environment for the industry. - Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities. - Strong ability to adapt to ambiguity, competing demands and rapid change. - Knowledge of standard desktop tools, including Microsoft Office. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
