OpportunityPeopleTec is currently seeking a NetworkEngineerto support our Huntsville, ALlocation.
The candidate will serve as a Network Engineer within a Project Management Office (PMO) within PAE Fires and will be responsible for providing technical support to the program's Chief Engineer and the Product Manager. The candidate will provide network engineering expertise across the life cycle of tactical network capabilities integrated into Army Firesair defense weapon systems, spanning design, development, integration, testing, fielding, and sustainment of network transport, data links, and secure information exchange. Work will emphasize LAN and WAN performance, secure information sharing across classification domains, cryptographic and communications security (COMSEC) integration, and technology refresh of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) network components driven by obsolescence and cybersecurity compliance. The candidate will prepare and present network findings, reports, and improvement plans to senior management and stakeholders. Will work within and/or lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve program goals. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer and/or Product Manager.
The candidate will interface with internal PMs across PAE Fires and external organizations to include HQDA, ASA(ALT), AvMC, ATEC, AMCOM, multiple Cross-Functional Teams, and others for coordination and synchronization of network technical and programmatic objectives.
Duties:
- Provide network engineering support across the life cycle (design, development, integration, testing, fielding, and sustainment) of tactical network capabilities integrated into PAE Fires air defense weapon systems.
- Plan and execute network and data link tests to assess and advance the capabilities of current and future operations across product office weapon systems.
- Analyze requirements documents, interpret technical and programmatic needs, and manage supplier network solutions for weapon system tactical networks and battlefield data dissemination across multiple networks.
- Provide technical expertise on networks and their components that integrate sensors, effectors, and fire control systems into a system of systems, including the configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and operation of the network topology.
- Support secure information exchange between networks operating at different classification levels, including cross-domain solution integration, security policy enforcement, and auditability.
- Oversee information classification and encryption or COMSEC requirements in support of Government solutions.
- Support technology refresh and obsolescence management of COTS network components to sustain compliant, supportable capability and maintain a viable authority to operate.
- Troubleshoot and sustain LAN and WAN operations, including simulated and test environments, and analyze real-world communication and performance issues.
- Develop and review technical documentation supporting installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network equipment.
- Prepare and present network findings, reports, and improvement plans to management and stakeholders.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer and/or Product Manager.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant network engineering experience. Additional education may be substituted for years of experience.
- Hands-on experience with LAN and WAN design, switching and routing, and network troubleshooting, particularly within defense environments.
- Experience with tactical network solutions, including their design, integration, and sustainment in support of weapon system operations.
- Working knowledge of network security, information assurance, and IAVA and RMF compliance.
- Familiarity with cryptographic and COMSEC devices and secure data transfer across classification domains.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and defense requirements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- An active DoD Secret clearance (with TS/SCI eligibility).
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (for example, computer science or information technology); advanced degree preferred.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience working in or supporting a U.S. Government Program Office (preferred).
- Industry networking certifications such as CCNA or CCNP.
- Experience with cross-domain solutions, Army tactical networks and their components.
- Familiarity with Army acquisition processes and PAE Fires air defense programs.
