Job Summary
The Network Automation Engineer will design, implement, and maintain infrastructure platforms through code, with a focus on Network as Code, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and CI/CD practices. The role requires extensive experience with physical and virtual network infrastructure, the Software Development Lifecycle, network automation, infrastructure engineering, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. The position is onsite in Findlay, Ohio, with alternate locations in San Antonio, Texas and Denver, Colorado.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain Network as Code using tools such as GitLab, Terraform, Ansible, Itential, or NetBrain.
• Integrate Infrastructure as Code and network automation practices with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery.
• Utilize configuration management tools to automate system configurations and maintain consistency across environments.
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions to support infrastructure and network reliability and performance.
• Engineer, implement, configure, and maintain systems infrastructure.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of troubleshooting procedures.
• Analyze performance and utilization data to identify trends and provide optimization recommendations.
• Build, update, and maintain APIs for service integration.
• Automate physical infrastructure changes, including zero-touch provisioning.
• Support infrastructure automation across physical and virtual environments.
• Configure and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant platform engineering experience.
• Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman Framework.
• Proficiency with network automation tools and protocols including Python, REST API, YAML, XML, YANG, JSON, NETCONF, TCP/IP, VRF, SNMP, SSH, Cisco, DNAC, SolarWinds Orion, EIGRP, Nmap, routing, and switching.
• Experience building, updating, and maintaining APIs for service integration.
• Experience with vSphere Automation API and configuration management tools.
• Experience automating physical infrastructure changes, including zero-touch provisioning.
• Knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with DHCP, DNS, IIS, and file/print services.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnets, VLANs, and routing, including configuring switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Knowledge of VPNs, network segmentation, and intrusion detection and prevention systems.
• Experience with network traffic analysis and performance optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in Networking, Compute, Storage, Infrastructure as Code, Configuration Management, or Platform Development.
• Experience in Operational Technology and understanding of the PERA model.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitLab, NetBrain, NetBox, Itential, Jenkins, or similar tools for continuous integration and deployment.
• Experience delivering infrastructure solutions as products.
