Description
ADM is currently seeking a System Administrator (SA) to join the Falls Church VA team, and his responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities
- Provide desktop support to organizational users for all assigned IT equipment.
- Utilize government-provided software programs to ensure compatibility between different operating systems and domains, file access methods, installed programs, and retrieval of information data.
- Analyze and rectify IM/IT issues and distribute approved software either on site or remotely, utilizing government –provided monitoring, analysis, and automation tools. Assist supported customers with the functional software and hardware applications as necessary.
- Facilitate the interoperability of unique applications with other applications, administration of operating systems software; windows-based enterprise and standard editions, database administration, Active Directory administrative functions, control and access of data storage, space allocation.
- Analyze, diagnose basic computer configuration and hardware problems to resolve quickly and efficiently.
- Works independently in building, patching, tests (check for compatibility issues, conducts QA) and deploys complex systems and platforms meeting clients’ needs and specifications.
- Leads in planning and implementing changes to infrastructure with the goal of enhancing performance.
- Performs storage and server data backup, data migration and disaster recovery operations.
- Performs software and operating system upgrades and track system licensing.
- Configures security settings or access permissions for groups and individuals.
- Provides technical support to users by troubleshooting problems related to network or platform performance.
- Documents complex procedures and troubleshooting procedures related to systems/networks software and hardware.
- Leads the configuration and maintenance of office and/or production software, adjunct support and/or utility software, i.e Virus malware protection, office application suites and/or application software.
- Works with Business Applications, vendors, consultants, contractors, and IT personnel from other Bureaus, Divisions, and Departments.
- Provides technical guidance and assistance to other Engineers and Administrators.
Qualifications
- The SA shall have (at minimum) a bachelors degree (preferably in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management) or degree that provided a minimum of 15 semesters in one or more of the fields identified above.
- The SA shall possess at a minimum 1 current industry certified information technology certification or able to obtain within 12 months of employment.
- The SA shall have 5 + years experience in desktop support, database management, and network management.
- The SA shall maintain all current professional certifications and licenses required in this contract to perform work during the execution of this contract to include maintaining DoD 8570 Information Assurance Training IAT Level II, (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).
- Shall have an eligible Secret Clearance.
Any clearance requirements for this position are established by the government contract.
