Position Summary:
The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Division of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to provide specialty care within the Northeast ambulatory clinic setting as part of the Northeast expansion at Children's Wisconsin. The APP works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.
Position Highlights:
• Extends ambulatory clinical access for a high utilization pediatric and adolescent focused orthopedic program through both autonomous and collaborative clinical care
• Serves as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide patient care to pediatric and adolescent patients with acute, chronic and postoperative orthopaedic conditions
• Collaborates with attending orthopaedic faculty and advanced practice providers from across the division, as well as support staff including nurses, athletic trainers, orthopedic techs, occupational and physical therapists, etc.
• 6-12 month onboarding in the greater Milwaukee region is required for this position before beginning local practice in the Northeast region, to include Children's Wisconsin Appleton Clinic as the primary practice location
• Reports to the APP manager for the pediatric orthopaedic surgery division
Schedule:
• Clinical schedule occurs Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am - 5pm
• Occasional administrative and/or indirect care duties performed outside clinical hours
• 1.0 FTE; 100% clinical effort
• Exempt
Department/Division Highlights:
Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery division faculty and advanced practice providers provide care as part of the Orthopedic Service Line at Children's Wisconsin. Consisting of over 30 faculty and APPs, providers within the division provide subspecialty care in the domains of acute orthopedics, hand & upper extremity, sports medicine, spine and general pediatric orthopedic care across 6 specialty clinic locations throughout eastern Wisconsin. The service line serves the community through over 40,000 ambulatory visits and 2,000 surgical procedures annually.
Qualifications:
Preferred Experience:
• Previous APP pediatric and/or orthopaedic surgery experience preferred.
Minimum Education:
• Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
• Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC PA-accredited organization.

• DEA registration or eligibility
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
• Wisconsin APRN License • APRN Certification
• Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization
• Family NP (FNP)
• Pediatric NP (PNP)
• Physician Assistant
• Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
• Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
