Full Job Description
Your Mission:

Accountable for leading NDT team, overseeing productivity, efficiency, and quality management within the department's control.

Explore the Depth of the Role:
  • Manage NDT inspectors, supervisors and Level III inspectors/Examiners
  • Assign resources to daily work ensuring all business requirements are met
  • Maintain NDT compliance to contract flow down and internal requirements
  • Ensure NDT is adequately staffed to support production needs
  • Spearhead continuous improvement of NDT and welding
  • Suggests equipment upgrades, process changes, and potential product or service adjustments.
  • Plans and coordinates department work schedules and provides status updates to plant leadership.
  • Monitors that NDT technicians and CWIs adhere to established procedures.
  • Ensures the maintenance and enhancement of current NDT practices to meet industry standards efficiently.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Requirements

Mission Readiness:
  • Requires a High school diploma; technical school training or skilled trades experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a specified manufacturing field.
  • At least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Degree in Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • ASNT Level II certification required, ASNT Level III or NAVSEA Examiner with NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 experience preferred
  • Leadership & motivational abilities.
  • Works well with others.
  • Able to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Demonstrated excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Must have the ability to change and adapt to new situations.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and drawings (Weld symbols)
  • Well organized with good communication abilities
  • Industrious and hardworking
  • Possessing above average problem-solving abilities


Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel between locations as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach/pull/push with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
  • May lift or carry 50lbs. Weights exceeding 50lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver.
