Overview

The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

We have an immediate need for a National Security Space Launch (NSSL)/Space Control Acquisition Analyst to support the Space and National Intelligence Directorate within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Strategic, Space, and Intelligence Portfolio Management (DASW SSIPM). This role is located onsite at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

The National Security Space Launch (NSSL)/Space Control Acquisition Analyst will support DASW(SSIPM) in overseeing the Department of War's National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program acquisition portfolio, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, performance, and risk assessment goals throughout the program lifecycle. This role involves facilitating senior-level reviews and industry engagements with leading launch providers, delivering analytical insights and actionable recommendations to enhance national security objectives, and promote competition in space launch services. The Analyst will develop and coordinate acquisition strategies, white papers, and decision memorandums essential to optimizing space command and control programs to meet warfighter needs. Additionally, this role requires leading rapid acquisition efforts, ensuring compliance with milestones, fiscal responsibility, and the timely delivery of critical space domain capabilities essential for safeguarding national security.

Qualifications

Required:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with either National Security Space Launch, C4ISR, or Space Control/Space Operations
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with the DoD Acquisition System and/or ICD 801 acquisition processes
  • DAWIA/DAU certification in Program Management
  • Experience supporting senior leaders at the OSD, Joint Staff, IC, or senior Military staff level, with the ability to work both independently and in teams
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Able to work fully onsite based on client needs
