As a Municipal Civil Engineer, PE, you will play a pivotal leadership role in driving HBK Engineering’s civil design and project management operations across Chicagoland. Positioned at the intersection of municipal infrastructure and clean energy, you will oversee high-visibility public right-of-way designs alongside a rapidly expanding portfolio of land development projects—including commercial sites, utility-scale solar, electric substations, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
In this role, you will lead cross-functional project teams through all phases of design, permitting, and construction, balancing technical oversight in AutoCAD Civil 3D/Bentley software with full financial and contractual management. As a key representative of HBK, you will build strategic client relationships, navigate complex municipal approvals, mentor rising engineering talent, and champion safety-first engineering practices on projects shaping the future of regional infrastructure. Location: Chicagoland or Greater Chicago Area
