Director of Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)What You'll Do- Lead the region's comprehensive transportation planning program.
- Develop and implement the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP).
- Manage MPO staff, budgets, and federal planning grants.
- Coordinate with the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT), local governments, federal agencies, and regional partners.
- Present recommendations to policy boards, public officials, and community groups.
- Oversee public participation initiatives and ensure compliance with federal transportation planning requirements.
What We're Looking ForWe are seeking a collaborative leader who brings:
- Bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, public administration, geography, business, or a related field.
- Five or more years of progressively responsible transportation or regional planning experience.
- Supervisory and project management experience.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with federal or state transportation programs is highly desirable.
- Experience with GIS and transportation planning software is preferred.
- AICP, GISP, or related professional certification is a plus.
