Full Job Description
Job Title: Molecular Genetics Technologist Lead
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)
Duration: 6+ months C2H

SUMMARY: Performs various clinical laboratory tests procedures as well as assist manager/supervisor on day-to-day supervision of clinical laboratory personnel in the absence of immediate supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs testing and troubleshoots assay performance.
  • Compiles, evaluates and analyzes data.
  • Helps supervisor to prepare schedules to provide appropriate laboratory coverage and ensure timely results reporting.
  • Participates in the interview and hiring process and trains new laboratory employees.
  • Maintains laboratory compliance according to CAP, NY, CLIA regulations and 5S standards.
  • Assists with overseeing laboratory equipment maintenance and reagent Quality Control records. Takes appropriate actions if systems deviate from the laboratory's established specification.
  • Maintains laboratory stock levels and regularly orders laboratory supplies.
  • Helps supervisor to maintain standard operating procedures for the laboratory.
  • Leads process improvements in the section.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Adheres to Code of Conduct as outlined in the clients Compliance Program.
