Full Job Description
Torch Technologies is seeking a Modeling & Simulation (M&S) VV&A Engineer to join a team providing verification, validation, accreditation (VV&A), and systems engineering support for Missile Defense System (MDS) modeling and simulation activities. This position supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) System Engineering.
As Modeling & Simulation VV&A Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
• Provide M&S accreditation recommendations to the Accreditation Authority through execution of VV&A activities supporting Missile Defense System intended uses.
• Perform M&S systems engineering and analysis to develop System Requirements Documents (SRDs) and translate stakeholder needs into system-level M&S requirements.
• Support the Director, System Verification, in the roles of MDA Verification and Validation Agent and Accreditation Agent.
• Develop MDS M&S verification, validation, and accreditation plans and reports.
• Conduct simulation framework verification and evaluation (SFVE) analyses supporting validation of integrated MDS models in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) and digital environments.
• Author and update technical documentation, studies, assessments, accreditation reports, and VV&A reports.
• Perform model design verification to ensure M&S designs accurately reflect validated concepts and requirements.
• Assess M&S capabilities, limitations, assumptions, and risks impacting intended use and test objectives, and recommend mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications:
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or another STEM-related field.
• 2+ years of experience supporting missile defense programs, complex DoW programs, or related engineering efforts.
• Active secret DoW clearance.
• Experience with systems engineering processes, requirements development, verification, validation, and/or modeling and simulation.
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
• Familiarity with current and evolving Missile Defense System (MDS) architectures.
• Experience applying modeling and simulation tools to defense systems and architectures.
• Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle processes and the systems engineering "V" model.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
