MISSION COMMAND SOFTWARE SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Description Summary
Provides system and hardware engineering support services for all phases of constructive simulation federation(s); configures and manages Army Mission Command Systems (AMCS) to include ADSI, AFATDS, AMDWS, DCGS-A, FBCB2, JCR, TAIS, GCCS-A, CPOF, JADOCS, EMT, and TIGR; integrates constructive simulations data with SIMPLE/JMECS for use by C4ISR/ABCS/C2 systems; maintains Windows 7/10 workstations, Windows 2008R2/2012R2 Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstations, and Solaris 10 workstations incl DoD IA (RMF) compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide system and hardware engineering support services for all phases of constructive simulation federation(s).
  • Configure and manage Army Mission Command Systems (AMCS) to include ADSI, AFATDS, AMDWS, DCGS-A, FBCB2, JCR, TAIS, GCCS-A, CPOF, JADOCS, EMT, and TIGR.
  • Responsible for the integration of JCATS and IS (Instrumentation System) (MILES II) data with SIMPLE/JMECS in order to integrate live/simulation data that is used by the C4ISR/ABCS/C2 systems which include ADSI, TAIS, AMDWS, JDOCS, GCCS-A, FBCB2, AFATDS, and CPOF.
  • Test all beta and new simulation software, integration software or tools, and simulation federations.
  • Use simulation software to include JCATS, JDLM, LVC, JLCCTC 8.1, LOTS, and DXTRS.
  • Integrate simulation data to stimulate C4ISR/AMCS/C2 systems in order to create a common operation picture (COP) for simulation exercises that operate on DIS or HLA protocols
  • Provide technical integration solutions and recommendations for exercises to also include networks and computer systems layout and setups for simulations and AMCS.
  • Configure, integrate and manage Virtual Battle Space 3 (VBS3) simulations during exercises.
  • Maintain Windows 7/10 workstations, Windows 2008R2/2012R2 Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6/7 Workstations, and Solaris 10 workstations, including software updates, patches, baselines, etc.
  • Setup exercises to include network connectivity, installing server/clients workstations with Windows 7/10, Windows Server 2008R2/2012R2, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6/7, and installing simulation software systems.
Required Education and Experiences
  • A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience OR an associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience OR a major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience OR 11 years of recent specialized experience.
  • Required to have an active U.S. Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI access.
  • CompTIA Security+
