Missile Defense System Architecture EngineerContingent upon prime contractor approval
Purpose:- Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer in Fort Belvoir, VA
- In this role you will get to participate in analysis of future Missile Defense System (MDS) architectures and concepts, and modeling and simulation (M&S) tool development to support architecture assessment.
Job Description:- Assess missile defense system capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities against current and future threats to develop potential architecture solutions that mitigate gaps and/or improve performance.
- Assist in developing analysis plans, execute MDS simulation tools, post-process and assess analysis results, and prepare architecture analysis briefs/reports.
- Support modeling & simulation (M&S) efforts related to the above to tailor tools to specific analysis plans.
Qualifications:- Must have a Bachelor's Degree with at least 3+ years of experience in missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project.
- Must have a basic understanding of the current MDS architecture and future concepts.
- Must have some experience in modeling, assessment, and evaluation of future missile defense architectures.
- Must have basic skills in interpreting results and presenting findings clearly.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, as well as collaboration with others to achieve objectives.
- Must have strong time management skills and the ability to assess tasks based on their importance and urgency.
Desired Qualifications:- Experience with AFSIM or similar MDS simulation tools/frameworks, preferred.
- Background in IAMD/Cruise Missile Defense systems, preferred.
- Background or experience with space systems, preferred.
- Experience with the definition and use of advanced concepts and algorithms for the M&S of MDS architectures, preferred.
- Experience supporting systems engineering-related architecture design activities, preferred.
- Active TS/SCI Clearance, preferred.
Security Requirements:- Must have an Active Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it.
Travel Requirements:- Minimal Travel; 10% or less
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year
