Full Job Description
Your Opportunity

The Mining Engineer will lead mine engineering for mining studies/projects of varying size and complexity, and at various project stages from initial concepts through to execution. This person may be required to work on several projects at a time and take on various levels of responsibility.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Work with clients to deliver safe, responsible, and innovative solutions.
  • Lead mine engineering efforts, including directing other mine engineers/technicians.
  • Manage small to mid-size projects.
  • Work with resource block models to design mine access, mining methods, mine development, and mine infrastructure. Prepare mine development and production plans and schedules.
  • Estimate performance productivities and support the preparation of capital and operating costs.
  • Lead meetings and interface with clients, external consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, and/or vendors.
  • Participate in technical reviews.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
  • Supports the development of standards and specifications for the mining group.
  • Prepare technical reports.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Project Management experience an asset.
  • Advanced skills with 3D Mine Design software (Deswik required).
  • Advanced skills with Mine Scheduling Software (Deswik required).
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
  • Familiar with Mine Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Experience with ventilation modelling an asset.
  • Experience with backfill systems is an asset.
  • Experience with rock mechanics is an asset.

Education and Experience
  • Mining Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in underground hard rock mining.
  • Engineering and operations experience at an operating mine considered an asset.

Pay Range:
• Locations Outside of Lower Mainland -- BC & Various locations in Ontario-$106,700.00 - $156,700.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
