Role OverviewAs the
Mine Engineer - Mid-Range Planning, reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing the rolling 12-month mine plan for the Island Gold Mine. You will ensure alignment between development and production activities and the mine's strategic objectives, while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changes in resource models and operational priorities. Working closely with engineering, production, and geology teams, you will deliver practical and executable plans that support both short-term performance and long-term growth.
Primary Responsibilities:- Mid-Range Mine Planning:Lead the development of rolling 12-month forecasts, including mine plans, schedules, and production forecasts that support operational execution and corporate objectives.
- Integration & Alignment:Integrate infrastructure, construction, and maintenance requirements into the mid-range plan and ensure alignment between short-range, mid-range, and long-range mine plans.
- Collaboration & Technical Support:Work closely with production, geology, and engineering teams to ensure compliance with the mine plan and provide technical support to operations, construction, and technical services.
- Analysis & Optimization:Conduct scenario analysis and trade-off studies to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization of the mine plan.
- Reporting & Studies:Contribute to monthly reporting, variance analysis, and budgeting activities. Provide input into Life of Mine planning, scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, including AFEs and economic justification of projects.
- Leadership & Development:Supervise & provide guidance to junior engineers, surveyors, and drill and blast planners. Support senior engineers through active participation in site-wide initiatives.
What You Bring to the Table- Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering.
- P.Eng license
- 3-5 years of underground mining experience, including prior experience in an underground mine planning role.
- Strong knowledge of underground narrow vein mining methods (longhole mining preferred).
- High proficiency in Deswik mine planning and scheduling software or equivalent tools.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe, responsible, and sustainable mining practices.

Working Conditions- Combination of office and underground field environment.

Pay Range: $90,000 to $172,150 CAD
The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
