Full Job Description
Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Mid-Atlantic Data Center/Mission Critical Technical Team Lead, we'll count on you to build and lead a team of technical experts in data center design, support project delivery, and assist with marketing activities and pursuits with key clients in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) market sector.

This role will help drive the success of our practice with leadership in the following areas:

Technical Team Building and Leadership

  • Attract and recruit engineering staff to serve as subject matter experts (SMEs) within our core and specialty disciplines for data center design projects.
  • Assign work and monitor workload among the team SMEs.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload with other data center design teams.
  • Provide mentoring and opportunities for team growth and development.


Project Management and Project Production

  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large multi-discipline projects or medium-sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity.
  • Oversee project delivery and effective implementation of the QA/QC program.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration within project teams and eliminate hurdles and barriers to success.
  • Support complex engineering projects in market sectors beyond TMT as called upon.


Area Leadership

  • Collaborate with local discipline leads on project staffing, project technical support, and project pursuits.
  • Work with area business group leadership to implement process improvements, facilitate work sharing and assist in applying key staff/expertise to projects.


Marketing and Client Relations

  • Assist with proposal, fee preparation, and staffing for project pursuits.
  • Assist the TMT leadership team with assessing and developing opportunities in the area and national marketplace as directed by market sector leadership.
  • Perform other tasks to support the TMT market sector in the area as called upon by area and market sector leadership.


Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10-15 years of experiencing designing, delivering, and managing large, complex data center/mission critical projects.
  • A licensed professional engineer with a background in mechanical, electrical, or structural design, or a project manager with PMP certification.
  • Local to the Northern Virginia area.
  • Active in industry and business associations / organizations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
