The Job at a Glance

At Parts Town the Senior Microsoft 365 Collaboration Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for the administration, engineering, support, governance, and continuous improvement of Parts Town's Microsoft 365 collaboration platform.

This position serves as the primary technical owner and escalation point for SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Entra ID collaboration services. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise, strong operational discipline, and a passion for delivering secure and user-friendly collaboration solutions.

This role works directly within the technology every day, providing Tier 3 support, driving platform improvements, automating administrative processes, and partnering with stakeholders across the business to maximize the value of the Microsoft 365 platform.

A Typical Day

Microsoft 365 Administration & Engineering
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies.
  • Administer SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Entra ID platforms.
  • Manage configuration, governance, policies, platform health, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues, lead root cause analysis, and implement new Microsoft 365 capabilities.

SharePoint Online Administration
  • Administer SharePoint sites, permissions, policies, storage, and lifecycle governance.
  • Support content management, metadata, information architecture, and oversharing remediation.
  • Drive migrations, modernization, platform enhancements, and scalable collaboration solutions.

Microsoft Teams Administration
  • Administer Teams policies, governance, collaboration settings, integrations, and lifecycle processes.
  • Manage guest access, external collaboration, federation, meetings, chat, and file sharing.
  • Troubleshoot complex Teams collaboration, meeting, and integration issues.

Entra ID Administration
  • Administer Microsoft 365 groups, security groups, dynamic groups, and collaboration identity services.
  • Support Conditional Access, authentication, SSO, group lifecycle, and access management.
  • Partner with Security and Infrastructure teams on identity-related initiatives.

Automation & Continuous Improvement
  • Build PowerShell and Microsoft Graph automation to streamline administration, reporting, and governance.
  • Create reusable operational solutions, monitoring capabilities, and process improvements.
  • Maintain documentation, standards, and operational runbooks.

Technical Leadership
  • Provide Microsoft 365 collaboration leadership and subject matter expertise.
  • Mentor support teams and contribute to architecture, design, and roadmap discussions.
  • Recommend best practices that improve security, usability, governance, and efficiency.


To Land This Opportunity

Required Qualifications
  • You have a bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or the equivalent real-world experience.
  • You have 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft 365 administration and engineering experience.
  • You have 3+ years of SharePoint Online experience in a 1,000+ user enterprise environment.
  • You know your way around Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID, PowerShell automation, and Microsoft 365 troubleshooting.
  • You bring strong governance, access/lifecycle management, and communication skills to every collaboration challenge.

Preferred Qualifications
  • You have Microsoft 365 certifications-or you're actively working toward them.
  • You have experience with SAM, Microsoft Graph API, PowerShell, Power Automate, and Power Platform.
  • You've helped move SharePoint forward through migrations, modernization, Copilot readiness, or large-scale Microsoft 365 initiatives.
  • You have Microsoft Purview experience, which earns you bonus points.
