A Snapshot of Your Day As the Lead Medium Gas Turbine (MGT) Mechanical Trainer, you will have an exciting opportunity to develop career path for technicians and engineers for the MGT gas turbine fleet, initially focusing on the SGT-750. Your responsibilities will include training Field Service Representative (FSRs) in mechanical disassembly, inspection, reassembly, and commissioning during both planned and unplanned outages. You will also learn and teach across other gas turbine product lines. This will be an on-site position in 1 of 3 potential locations: Deer Park, TX; Houston, TX; Winston-Salem, NC.
How You'll Make an Impact - Provide hands-on training courses specifically on the SGT-750, as well as other MGT models (500/600/700/800) and gearboxes.
- Deliver classroom, virtual, and hands-on technical training, assist in SELP competency assessments and certifications, and ensure course material is current and relevant.
- Travel to maintain up-to-date knowledge of various engine types and new modifications made to our turbines, while actively engaging in EHS compliance and reporting.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for TCIs North America (NA) MGT training standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of the training center by identifying training needs and enhancing training facilities and resources.
What You Bring - Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience), and 5+ years of experience in workshop, assembly, and maintenance work, with specialized knowledge of the SGT-750 engine. Familiarity with other MGT models (500/600/700/800) and gearboxes is a plus.
- Possess capability training program development to enhance product understanding.
- You demonstrate a strong willingness to teach and learn, exhibiting the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- You are open and communicative, maintaining a professional demeanor while prioritizing quality, safety, and attention to detail in all aspects of your work.
- You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to adapt to diverse cultural environments, and you are proficient in computer skills necessary for effective training delivery.
