Pricing Manager
Job Summary
The position is primarily responsible for establishing the policies and guidelines for pricing of transportation services and associated tariffs and contractual rates.
Essential Duties
Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures
Engages in competitive intelligence, collects and analyzes information on market trends and conditions, gauges anticipated demand, and uses the information to develop competitive pricing strategies and guidelines
Develops models in relation to current market conditions, available finances, and established overhead
Balances customer needs and values with expected demand to maximize revenue, market share, or profit margin
Engages with other departments; operations, logistics, rating and billing to ensure efficient and accurate sharing of information
Manages communication with sales and marketing to develop effective pricing strategies
Responsible for updating existing policies and procedures as part of Continuous Improvement efforts
Oversees and manages the productivity of the pricing department staff
Ensures proper goals, training, and project requirements are met
Mentors and coaches staff for professional development
Negotiate with vendors to control, reduce and manage company costs
Manage and maintain vendor agreements and contracts
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting or related field is preferred
