JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Grid Manager, Field Work Management is responsible for leadership of the Grid Work Management planning and scheduling activities across Entergy's 4-state footprint. The position provides strategic oversight of Transmission Line and Substation planning and scheduling activities supporting SERC mandated maintenance, routine maintenance, capital, failure, and construction planning support. It is responsible for the implementation and application of system programs, business tools, and standardized work management processes to ensure Entergy policies and regulatory requirements are met while driving consistent execution across the system.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides leadership, coaching, and direction to Work Management Grid leaders responsible for planning and scheduling activities across footprint. Ensures consistent application of Work Management processes, system programs, tools, Entergy policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Promotes partnership and coordination between TCC, DOC, Operations, Asset Management, Engineering, Capital Projects, Distribution Regional Planners, Utility Work Management, Customer Service, and other internal and external planning organizations to ensure efficient planning and execution across the system.
• Provides system oversight of work prioritization, scheduling, resource optimization, backlog health, and workforce utilization. Advocates priorities of work to maximize fixed-cost Entergy resources while balancing capital, operational, and reliability objectives.
• Works closely with Asset Management and Project Management to develop regional work forecasts supporting Transmission Line and Substation Maintenance, SERC mandated maintenance, routine maintenance, capital projects, failure response, construction activities, outage planning, contract resource planning, and reliability improvement programs.
• Provides governance for Work Management processes, system controls, planning and scheduling performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitors key performance indicators and provides recommendations that impact regional priorities, staffing, workload balancing, and operational performance.
• Supports the Storm Response Program through preparedness, training, and restoration activities while serving as the senior Work Management leader for regional operations and representing the organization in regional and corporate leadership forums.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Management, or related field preferred; equivalent utility operations, planning, engineering, construction, Work Management, or field operations experience may be considered.
Minimum experience required of the position
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible utility operations, planning, engineering, Work Management,
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
• Advanced knowledge of Grid and Transmission Work Management principles, including Transmission Line and Substation planning, scheduling, work prioritization, resource optimization, outage coordination, and execution of SERC mandated maintenance, routine maintenance, capital, failure, and construction work.
• Demonstrated ability to lead leaders by coaching, developing, and holding Work Management Supervisors accountable for operational performance, employee development, and consistent execution across multiple states.
• Working knowledge of Asset Management, Engineering, Operations, Capital Projects, and reliability processes with the ability to build effective partnerships that improve planning, scheduling, and work execution.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret operational metrics, identify trends, establish priorities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across a regional organization.
• Demonstrated ability to develop resource strategies, balance workload across multiple jurisdictions, and optimize workforce and contractor utilization while supporting safety, reliability, customer commitments, and financial objectives.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional leaders, facilitate collaboration, and present recommendations to senior leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and applicable Entergy Work Management systems and business applications (e.g., Maximo, Click, Power BI, AM/FM, Storm Assist, and related systems).
• Working knowledge of Entergy policies, regulatory requirements, and storm response processes applicable to Grid and Transmission Work Management operations.
