Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)

The Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) is a master's-prepared registered nurse specializing in psychiatric-mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults. The CRNP provides comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management while collaborating closely with the behavioral health team to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat acute psychiatric illnesses, behavioral health conditions, and mental health crises.
  • Provide psychopharmacologic management in collaboration with the staff psychiatrist.
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide psychotherapy, counseling, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment options, expected outcomes, and potential risks and benefits.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with established treatment guidelines and applicable regulations.
  • Manage and monitor clients with chronic psychiatric conditions.
  • Assess common medical concerns and refer patients for specialized medical care when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the psychiatrist to coordinate inpatient psychiatric admissions when necessary.
  • Perform or recommend age-appropriate health and behavioral health screenings.
  • Promote wellness, resilience, recovery, and healthy self-care practices.
  • Collaborate with schools, families, community providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care.

Requirements: Active PA certification as a nurse practitioner with 1-2 years of behavioral health experience working with children and adolescents

Schedule: Full-time position, but will consider part-time arrangement if availability meets program needs
