The ideal candidate will lead operations for the Melting area of the Steelmaking team on Shift, including managing team of EAF operators, and Aux personnel to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert.
The Basics:- Minimum of High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Steelmaking (Melting, Refining, Casting)
- Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel internationally
The Extras:- Advanced process control knowledge
- Dayforce and/or SAP experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or 4 years of military leadership experience and/or 4 years of progressive leadership experience in a Steel Mill

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING- Supervises and directs operations personnel on the specific duties to be accomplished each day
- Enforces company policies using coaching and disciplinary recommendations
- Performs the shift turnover with the previous and following shifts
- Works closely with Maintenance team to diagnose problems
- Works on continuous improvement of process
- Manages personnel work schedules, attendance and timekeeping
- Schedules and assigns required training for direct reports
- Responsible for documentation and reporting of issues in mill with root cause analysis and recommends solutions
- Responsible for the safety, order, and cleanliness of area

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT- Office and Industrial setting in the Steel Making facility
- Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
- Shift Work - Rotating 12 hour shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- People with heart pacemakers or any other electronic medical device are strictly prohibited from entering the furnace area. These devices include implanted pacemakers or implantable cardiac defibrillators where the device may be affected. Individuals identified to potentially work in EMF affected areas should identify the specific device they have as part of a medical history and manufacturer's recommendations should be followed.
