Position Summary:The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations using real-time ultrasound imaging and duplex Doppler technology. Working under the general direction of a Radiologist, the Sonographer exercises independent judgment in carrying out technical aspects of patient examinations while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and compliance with established protocols. The Sonographer provides compassionate patient care, maintains equipment and documentation, and supports the mission and values of Auburn Memorial Medical Services.
Responsibilities and Duties:- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and procedures in accordance with physician or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) orders and established imaging protocols.
- Evaluate ultrasound images for technical quality and diagnostic accuracy.
- Instruct, prepare, and assist patients before and during procedures to ensure cooperation, comfort, and optimal imaging results.
- Maintain competency in caring for patients of all ages and developmental stages.
- Maintain current knowledge of ultrasound anatomy, examination techniques, protocols, and best practices.
- Operate, clean, and maintain ultrasound equipment and coordinate repairs as necessary.
- Follow safe operating procedures for equipment, materials, and resources.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, logs, and appropriate inventory of departmental supplies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in radiology information systems and participate in training for newly implemented technologies.
- Practice the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
- Follow infection prevention and control practices, including Standard Precautions and appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a positive customer service approach in all patient and staff interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound Technology) program.
- Two (2) years of ultrasound experience preferred.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential or eligible to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
- Current CPR certification required.

- $36.23-$50.66 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience
