Overview:
Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is hiring a Medical Lab Tech to work Full-Time Evenings (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM)Sign-on Bonus up to $20,000 for Qualified Candidates!OverviewAs a Medical Laboratory Tech, you will perform laboratory testing procedures, analyze and interpret results, document findings, and report accurate test outcomes to support diagnosis and treatment. You will also assist in maintaining laboratory equipment, instruments, and tools to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance.Responsibilities- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing according to established procedures.
- Analyze, interpret, and accurately report laboratory results.
- Maintain quality control standards and regulatory compliance.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Document testing activities and results in laboratory information systems.
- Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to support patient care.
- Follow safety, infection control, and department protocols.
QualificationsEducation- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemical Science, or related field required.
Certification/LicensureOne of the following certifications is required:- ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology)
- AMT (American Medical Technologists)
- AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts)
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $37.13 - $54.39 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
