Role OverviewAs a Medical Dosimetrist, you'll play a critical role in the radiation oncology team, generating radiation dose distributions and calculations in collaboration with medical physicists and radiation oncologists. Your expertise ensures precise and effective treatment plans, directly impacting patient care and outcomes.

- Partner with medical physicists and radiation oncologists to generate precise radiation dose distributions and calculations-because getting treatment planning right is what it's all about.
- Take the helm of treatment planning computer systems and conduct quality assurance checks under the Medical Physicist's guidance, keeping our technology sharp and our accuracy sharper.
- Translate clinical protocols into flawless treatment plans that meet established procedures and clinical standards-no room for guesswork here.
- Bridge the gap between your technical expertise and the clinical team by communicating treatment specifications clearly to Radiation Oncologists for approval and to Radiation Therapists for seamless implementation.
- Champion radiation safety compliance across all procedures, protecting both patients and staff with unwavering attention to detail.
QualificationsWhat You Will NeedRequired Qualifications- Graduate of a formally organized medical dosimetry program with clinical and classroom curriculum, OR Bachelor's degree in physical or biological sciences, OR Associate/Bachelor's degree in other fields with required on-the-job training and experience.
- Minimum 12 months to 2 years of supervised work experience in medical dosimetry under a Certified Medical Dosimetrist or Medical Physicist, depending on educational background.
- Mathematical skills including algebra, trigonometry, and introductory calculus.
- Ability to visualize objects in three-dimensional concepts for treatment planning.
Preferred Qualifications- Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist.
- Experience with brachytherapy procedures.
