POSITION PURPOSEUnder the direction of the COO, the Medical Director provides medical supervision and direction to the Taos Professional Services (TPS) Clinics, health programs, and staff. The Medical Director develops and implements goals and objectives for clinical operations and ensures clinical excellence and fiscal responsibility. The Medical Director's responsibilities include developing and leading a robust team of clinicians, supporting a comprehensive vision for clinical care that integrates all specialties into a unified whole-person approach to patient care, reinforcing priorities for clinical quality improvement initiatives and service expansion opportunities, and overseeing the development of clinical standards of care, procedures, and protocols that support excellence in patient care. Must work closely with the TPS Leadership Team to accomplish all goals, tasks, planning and changes. The Medical Director serves as spokesperson for the TPS medical staff and represents them at meetings. The Medical Director also provides direct patient care.
MINIMUM MANDATORY qualificationsExperience:- At least 10 years of recent experience in a busy outpatient or inpatient department, teamed with non-physician clinicians, serving multi-generational, multicultural clients is required.
- Experience in a non-profit rural community clinic setting.
Education:- Advanced knowledge of provider schedule management and utilization.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:- Knowledge of the front-end revenue cycle process, including patient registration, government and commercial insurance processes.
- Active participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Preferred qualifications- Previous management experience in a similar position is preferred.
