BMO’s Media & Entertainment Industries Group ("MEIG") is seeking a highly motivated Senior Analyst / Associate to support the growth of the U.S. Team, based in Los Angeles. This position will play a key role in the underwriting, execution, and portfolio management of credit facilities provided to companies across the media and entertainment ecosystem.
MEIG is a specialized banking platform focused on the evolving media landscape, including Entertainment Content (Film, Television, Music), Traditional Media, Sports, and Entertainment-Related sectors across mid-cap and large-cap clients.
This role offers significant exposure to complex credit transactions, including syndicated lending, leveraged finance, acquisition financings, structured media facilities, and entertainment content financing. The successful candidate will develop advanced credit underwriting, financial analysis, and portfolio management skills while working directly with senior industry bankers and credit professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support underwriting and execution of new, renewal, and amendment credit transactions.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including trend cards, operating forecasts, leverage and cash flow analysis, liquidity assessments, and downside stress cases.
- Assist in preparing credit approval memoranda and presentation materials for internal stakeholders.
- Conduct industry, market, and competitive research on borrowers and prospective clients.
- Monitor an assigned portfolio of media and entertainment clients.
- Prepare annual reviews, interim monitoring reports, rating alerts, and portfolio surveillance materials.
- Perform covenant compliance testing and ongoing collateral monitoring.
- Ensure portfolio activities are completed in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements within established deadlines.
- Analyze income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and financial reporting packages.
- Evaluate liquidity, leverage, profitability, and cash flow metrics.
- Develop sensitivity analyses and stress-testing scenarios.
- Support valuation analyses and enterprise value assessments when required.
- Input and maintain timely and accurate client, facility, collateral, and portfolio information within systems of record (e.g., LTS), ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal policies and reporting requirements.
- Utilize technology tools, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Copilot, to improve underwriting and portfolio management efficiency.
- May coordinate closings with the operations teams.
- Assist in document gathering for AML/KYC process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2-5 years of experience in Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, Leveraged Finance, Credit Underwriting, Investment Banking, or a related financial services role.
- Strong financial statement analysis and accounting knowledge.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills.
- Experience performing financial analysis, credit underwriting, or transaction execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.
Preferred
- Experience covering media, entertainment, sports, telecommunications, digital media, content finance, or related sectors.
- Familiarity with entertainment content lending, including borrowing base facilities, collateral monitoring, library valuations, intellectual property-backed credit structures, and related entertainment finance products.
- Experience preparing annual reviews, covenant compliance testing, portfolio monitoring reports, or other ongoing credit administration activities.
- Understanding of leveraged lending and syndicated loan structures.

$69,000.00 - $127,800.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
