Mechanical Project Manager at Frontier-Kemper, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical projects while ensuring all work aligns with technical specifications, project budgets, schedules, and established quality standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully and meet or exceed client expectations.

- Managing mechanical projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring adherence to project design specifications and timelines.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and electrical designers, contractors and project managers, to develop project plans and budgets.
- Conducting site assessments to determine project feasibility, gather technical requirements, foster client relationships and perform QA/QC checks throughout the entire process.
- Overseeing the installation, testing and commissioning of proprietary system designs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Ensuring projects meet specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Analyze project requirements and develop detailed plans to present to the customer.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, resources and budgets for hoist-related projects.
- Work with design teams to ensure engineering plans meet technical requirements and regulatory standards, while being workable in the field for installation.
- Coordinate with customers, contractors, suppliers and regulatory authorities to facilitate project execution.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures throughout project phases that meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report on project progress to FKC Lake Shore Management, the customer and all downstream workflows, identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure adherence to mechanical codes and standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams.
- Stay updated on the latest engineering technologies and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in mechanical project management.
- 3+ years of experience with mechanical hoisting equipment design and operation.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, systems and components.
- Proficiency in project management software and mechanical design tools.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality mechanical projects.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make decisions in dynamic project environments.
- Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices in mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.
- Awareness of mining industry-specific codes and regulations throughout multiple countries
- Proficiency in project design and planning, management, costing and documentation.
- Ability to work individually with minimal supervision.
PREFERRED SKILLS:- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or relevant certifications preferred.
- 5+ years of experience supporting underground mining operations.
- Familiarity with automation and control systems.
- Experience with project management tools and software.
