Summary

The Mechanical Project Engineer II position will be responsible for improving the effectiveness of operational execution by developing and implementing process improvement
projects in operations. This position will require the design, implementation and startup of these projects, which involves the application of mechanical and process engineering skills. This role requires the use of structured problem solving and process improvement methodologies. Requires close collaboration with operations and maintenance staff during the design process to troubleshoot and resolve problems during installation as well as ongoing support as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering projects from defining the problem statement through installation and validation of the solution.
  • Create detailed technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and 2D/3D models using engineering data and measurements.
  • Develop and review coherent initial design models based on collected data, calculations, and sketches.
  • Collaborate with engineers, operations, and SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) teams to understand project needs and provide design recommendations.
  • Communicate with manufacturing to generate detailed production layouts.
  • Provide technical support by delivering complete and accurate design documents on schedule.
  • Participate in efforts to standardize and unify design documentation across the organization.
  • Revise existing drawings/models based on team feedback and updated project requirements.
  • Source technical specifications through vendor catalogs and online tools to support model creation.
  • Translate preliminary sketches into working models and assembly documents.
  • Produce layouts and part drawings for legacy equipment as needed.
  • Other Duties as needed or required

Education and Experience

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 4 years of Experience producing technical drawings and managing mechanical projects

Preferred:
  • Professional certification in mechanical drafting.
  • Experience with mechanical manufacturing processes.
  • Project management experience across concurrent design and installation efforts.
