Job HighlightsThe Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor oversees mechanical maintenance activities within the Kalama chemical plant. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role provides leadership and technical expertise to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical equipment and systems. The Supervisor leads Maintenance Technicians and external contractors and works closely with Reliability Engineering to support equipment reliability, mechanical integrity, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and external mechanical contractors, providing direction, coaching, training, and support while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance activities and mechanical integrity programs for fixed and rotating equipment, ensuring work is completed safely, effectively, and on schedule.
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for complex mechanical issues, including equipment alignment, lubrication, flanged joint closure, packing, and mechanical seals.
- Manage the mechanical maintenance work process, including work identification, planning, scheduling, prioritization, execution, and follow-up in accordance with LANXESS standards.
- Partner with Reliability Engineering to maintain equipment files, inspection records, and other required documentation and ensure compliance with PSM, ISO 9001, and other applicable requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and work processes; participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Experience / Skills- Associate degree or equivalent certification in a mechanical discipline.
- 10+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, including 5+ years of supervisory experience.
- Experience leading maintenance activities in a unionized hourly workforce environment.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, leadership, and planning skills.
- Knowledge of rotating and fixed mechanical systems, technical drawings, maintenance methods, and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Experience with a maintenance CMMS; SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- PSM chemical facility and ISO 9001 experience preferred.

In accordance with Washington state requirements, the established pay range for this position is Min $88,400 to $147,400 per year (exempt status, not eligible for overtime) depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
