Job Summary
Join our construction team as a Mechanical Field Engineer supporting a combined cycle power project. In this role, you will help keep field activities moving in alignment with project contract specifications and technical requirements. You will serve as a key connection between engineering, construction leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives, helping resolve technical questions, support field execution, and ensure work is completed to quality standards noted in specifications, contracts, and drawings.

Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will support mechanical piping and equipment installation activities for gas-fired power generation projects at the combined cycle facilities. You will work closely with home office engineering, vendor technical advisors, OEM representatives, subcontractors, and client teams to help ensure equipment deliveries, technical support, and field activities are aligned with the specifications and drawings.
You will provide technical guidance by interpreting design drawings, specifications, and project requirements, while helping subcontractors understand the overall design intent. You will monitor assigned subcontractors for compliance with technical requirements and support timely resolution of field questions to reduce delays and keep construction progressing.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating with the Field Subcontract Manager, preparing daily site reports, completing quantity take-offs to support planning and invoice review, maintaining conformed-to-construction drawing markups and project records, and responding to Contractor Information Requests and Requests for Information.
Preferred Qualifications
2 to 6 years of construction management, field engineering, or design experience on power generation, simple cycle, combined cycle, or similar facility construction projects.
Required Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills; basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to interpret mechanical engineering drawings, specifications, and related construction documents; ability to work effectively with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives in a fast-paced construction environment.
Preferred Skills: Experience with gas turbine, HRSG, steam turbine, balance-of-plant, mechanical piping, or equipment installation on simple cycle or combined cycle projects; knowledge of cost control and scheduling; ability to complete material take-offs and field estimates; mechanical system design experience; supervisory or lead experience; and contract administration experience.
Minimum Qualifications
6+ years construction management experience in similar facility construction. PE required or degree + 4 years design experience and 6+ years construction experience.; Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either an ABET accredited program. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
