Job description:
Position SummaryTRAXyL is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and deployment of our innovative installation equipment.
This role combines mechanical design, prototyping, field operations, and customer deployments. The ideal candidate enjoys taking equipment from concept to reality, designing and improving machinery in SolidWorks while also traveling to project sites to operate, test, and install that equipment in the field.
Responsibilities- Design and improve mechanical equipment and assemblies using SolidWorks
- Create engineering drawings, documentation, and bills of materials
- Build, test, troubleshoot, and refine prototypes
- Support manufacturing, assembly, and equipment maintenance activities
- Operate TRAXyL equipment during customer installations and field deployments
- Conduct equipment testing, inspections, and quality evaluations
- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues in both shop and field environments
- Document findings and recommend product improvements
- Train and support customers and field crews as needed
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and field teams to continuously improve products and processes
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, machine design, product development, manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, or related technical fields
- Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools, machinery, and equipment
- Experience developing and evaluating prototypes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with industrial equipment, fabrication, manufacturing, or construction equipment
- Telecommunications, utility, or infrastructure industry experience
- Experience with field deployments, commissioning, or customer support
Travel: Up to
30% travel for customer installations, equipment testing, training, and project deployments.
